Most legal software treats “AI integration” as a feature you wait for a vendor to build. Backdocket has taken the opposite approach since day one: every endpoint in the platform is already exposed through an open Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so any AI assistant that speaks MCP can connect to your case data — no custom build required.
That openness just paid off. Backdocket’s MCP server has been verified compatible with Zoom AI Companion, which now supports connecting to custom MCP servers as connectors.
If your team already uses Zoom for meetings, client calls, or internal collaboration, you can add Backdocket as a custom MCP connector inside Zoom AI Companion. Once connected, Zoom’s AI assistant can:
Backdocket has also submitted an app to the Zoom App Marketplace, currently pending Zoom’s review. Once approved, firms will be able to find and add Backdocket directly from the Marketplace. That approval isn’t required to get started, though — Backdocket’s API is already open and AI-discoverable, so any firm can connect it as a custom MCP connector in Zoom AI Companion today.
Most practice management platforms hand you a curated list of pre-built integrations and call it a day. Backdocket’s MCP server takes a different approach: it exposes the full API, ships with a searchable documentation index so an assistant can find the right endpoint on its own, and executes sandboxed scripts for multi-step or aggregate questions — all governed by per-endpoint risk classification so reads run freely while writes and financial transactions require explicit confirmation.
Zoom AI Companion is the latest example of what that openness enables. It won’t be the last — any AI assistant with MCP support can connect the same way.
Firms already on Backdocket can enable an API key and add Backdocket as a custom connector in Zoom AI Companion’s settings. No data migration, no separate contract, no additional fee from Backdocket.
